We are very excited for what God has in store for us this Fall at First Pres. Two worship services, one Contemporary (8:30am), one Traditional (11:00am) and a dedicated Christian Education time in between services. We will be offering a variety of Biblically based educational opportunities for every age, along with a time for fellowship with your church family.
The last year’s restrictions forced us to say “no” to so many of the thing we love to do. This fall we are excited to empower you to say, “Yes”! Say “yes” to worship, education, and service. We believe that God is calling each of us to serve in some way. Where is God calling you to serve? Perhaps, you are being called to share your gifts with others, to impact others by being a facilitator, a youth group leader, a nursery worker, or someone to teach and share God’s love with the precious children he has placed in our lives. Or maybe you enjoy building things, or have the gifts to serve on our Tech Team? It’s time to say YES to all that God has for you! Click Here

Beach Night is back!
Summer Beach Nights are back! This is a church-wide fellowship event that takes place four times throughout the summer. This year Beach Night has been moved from Sunday to Wednesday; this is in response to feedback about the difficulty of parking on Sundays. Also, this year the church will be providing all the food and drinks, you just need to bring a beach chair. Mark your calendars for all our next beach night, August 11th, from 6-8 PM at the southernmost point of Fort Lauderdale Beach Park, where the volleyball courts are located. Come enjoy food and fellowship.
Backpack Mission Project
Once again, the Vacation Bible School kids will participate in our “Back to School” backpack mission project in August. With the help of the congregation, last year we were able to provide a total of 300 filled backpacks. The backpacks were delivered to Mt Bethel Human Services, several public schools, and other local non-profit organizations such as Hope So Florida and Pantry of Broward. It takes approximately $30 to fill a backpack; however, any amount is appreciated!
MERRY CHRISTMAS! Wait. What? It’s July!
It may be hot & humid July, but it is never too early to start thinking about how First Pres can bless those Angel Tree families that are assigned to us. We actually start working on Angel Tree in mid-October after we receive our list of names from the Prison Fellowship organization. In 2020 we served 101 families with 256 kids and the need will probably be great again in 2021. Our congregation is terrific about buying and wrapping gifts, but please think about how you can volunteer beyond that very important role. Perhaps you could call several families to confirm their information and get their kids’ wish lists. Or you could help the week before the big event by sorting, tracking, and bagging gifts. We will also need lots of volunteers to help as the families come to church to pick up their gifts. Please prayerfully consider how you can help and watch for the Angel Tree table on Rally Day. For more information, contact email@example.com.

With the increased number of storms this season, we would like to encourage you to sign up to be a Commuter Volunteer. This is a way for you to be part of a team that can respond in the aftermath of a storm. With the COVID-19 pandemic the normal channels of assistance will not be able to respond, so we need your help to meet the needs of our communities all over the state.
