February 26th Update: Resuming In-Person Worship
In-Person Worship will resume on Sunday, March 7th
Over the past month, we have been happy to see a downward slope in the number of daily new cases of COVID-19 in Broward County, and a decrease in the positivity rate. Our Task Force met this past Tuesday (Feb 23rd) reviewing that data, and balancing all concerns.
Last night (Feb 25th), the Session met and reviewed the recommendations provided by the Task Force, and voted to move forward into Phase One of reopening the church and resuming in-person worship beginning next Sunday, March 7th. Please know that this decision was thoughtfully planned for reopening the doors of First Pres for in-person gatherings.
For that reason, we are continuing to follow all the same safety protocols that we did before, such as (but not limited to):
- There will be a reservation limit in order to safely gather in the sanctuary. Please make a reservation and let us know you are coming by 5pm the Friday prior to Sunday service to ensure your seating. There will be limited availability for walk-ups. Reservations for Sunday worship are open. Click Here.
- Face masks are required for entry into the church and will need to be worn throughout the service.
- Our team of volunteer greeters will register your arrival and give you a quick temperature check to make sure it’s below 100.4 degrees.
- The volunteer team members will lead you to your assigned seat. In order to accommodate as many people as safely as we can, please understand you most likely will not be sitting where you normally sit.
As always, you’re safety is our top priority during this continuing pandemic. With that in mind, we will continue to encourage you to worship online if you feel uncomfortable with attending worship in-person. The worship services will be available on our Livestream Channel and on our Facebook page each Sunday.
Whichever way you choose to worship – online or in-person – we are glad to have you as a part of our family of faith…where faith comes alive.
