The most appropriate expression for gratitude is worship and all of us in South Florida have a lot to be grateful for this weekend. This Sunday,
Rally Day, we will have a single unified worship service at 11 a.m. in the Sanctuary featuring our wonderful choirs and our energizing worship band. We will also hear from three of our members about how their work in the ministry of our church is making a difference in their lives and in the lives of others. Nikki Diefenbach, Steve Williams, and Kelley Jackson will be sharing the impact from each of their ministries of involvement. Our text this Sunday is
Luke 14:25-35 and is entitled,
Calculating Discipleship’s Cost Estimates. We will also share Communion with one another!
Following worship, we will head over under the big tent between the Sanctuary and the Neumann Center and celebrate Rally Day with BBQ, music, games for the kids, opportunities to sign up to participate in
church ministries, and the ability join the church! If you “get your ministry ticket punched” you will be automatically entered into a raffle to win a new iPad! Because Rally Day will be held outside, please come dressed comfortably to worship.
Finally, we know that many want to do something to help our friends to the east in the Bahamas. Along with collecting items for Hurricane Relief, we are also collecting money. If you would like to donate funds, make checks out to First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale and write Hurricane Relief in the memo line. All funds will be directed to
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance.
I look forward to seeing you in worship! I am
