This week we are shifting our study from Luke’s Gospel to Psalm 107: 1-9, 43. It’s a song that has God calling the exiled Israelites back home to Judea and the Land of Promise. I invite you to make the time to read and meditate upon the passage and get a feel for what it is about. If you really want to attack and solve a puzzle, go on to read the assigned Gospel text from Luke 12: 13-21. How do these two texts relate with one another Why are they placed together in the lectionary in the first place?
This Sunday is Communion Sunday and we will celebrate the Sacrament at all three services. This weekend’s scripture will provide you quite a bit of food for thought as we each prepare ourselves for receiving the Sacrament on Sunday. Exciting things are happening in the life of our church and I encourage you to be sure to invite a friend to come and celebrate the Supper, worship and fellowship with you this weekend. God is moving in our midst, beloved!
Remember who you are! You are a child of God! Share the winsome story of Jesus Christ and together let’s be his hands and feet to the world! I am
