Looking Ahead

Dear friends,
I might be biased, but one of the best services of the year is this Sunday! Sunday, June 2, 2019 will be our Youth, Graduate & Scholarship Sunday. This is a day where we celebrate our amazing students who will be graduating and honor them by having them lead us in worship.
Our students will be leading worship at all three services; 8:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m., and 11 a.m. They have been preparing for this Sunday and we are so excited for you to see how God has been growing their faith.
Our sermons will be delivered by Caroline Dubois-Weber and Madison Moore, and a special sermon treat from Nathan Mahon, Wesley Mahon, and Cameron Young. Many of these students are ones that have grown up in our church, we welcomed them through baptism, honored them at confirmation, and now we will celebrate them at graduation.
Our church values its youth and we’re proud of the many ministry opportunities that are provided. This Sunday will highlight one of those ministries. We recognize the hard work of our Scholarship team and the 2019 scholarship recipients. This year our Scholarship team on behalf of our church awarded 41 scholarships totaling $93,000 for our students. Our scholarship program has been supporting students for over 40 years, awarding more than 1,200 scholarships totaling over $1.4 million.

As Sunday quickly approaches, we’re preparing our students for worship by asking them to prayerfully mediate on 1 Peter 5:5-11. Our encouragement is that you would do the same to prepare for worship.

We hope you can come to a service and be reminded of the power Christ has bestowed upon our future through our youth.
See you Sunday,
Chandler Gelb
