Dear family and friends of First Pres,
One year ago on Valentine’s Day 2018, our community was shaken with the news of a mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. 17 students and adults lost their lives and 17 more were injured. Our community and nation have been healing from it ever since. This Valentine’s Day, I am asking everyone to take a moment and reach out to those in your circle of family and friends and let them know that you love them and that their life makes a difference in yours. Let’s reclaim today from Hallmark’s mushy sentimentality and let’s share God’s agape love – God’s intentional, sacrificial, will-full love to those around us!
This Sunday, we will be reading from the Prophet Jeremiah 17:5-10.
It shares a similar thread as Psalm 1
, and I encourage you to read them together and discern what the gist of our teaching will be this weekend. I will be building my thoughts around the title, “Preparing for Spiritual Climate Change.” I look forward to seeing you Sunday and be sure to invite a friend to worship with you!
Remember who you are, you are a child of God! Proclaim the Good News of Jesus wherever you go and be His loving hands and feet to the world! I am
Your pastor and friend,
