Looking Ahead

Dear family and friends of First Pres,
I am still drawing inspiration from last week’s worship on Epiphany Sunday! We are blessed to have so many talented members and staff who all come together and orchestrate the powerful worship we have in our church! Thank you to each of you!
This weekend is an exciting time in the life of First Pres as we will be introduced to the candidate for Associate Pastor for Congregational Care. Our Associate Pastor Nominating Committee has done a wonderful job in finding the right person who answered this call to join us this February should the congregation concur with their decision. The person the APNC is presenting is a perfect complement to Nic and myself and exudes a gracious, peaceful spirit to those she meets. Our candidate will preach at all three services and will be voted upon at a Congregational Meeting at the conclusion of the 11 a.m. service this Sunday, January 13, 2019. A brief reception will follow in the Neumann Center to welcome the new pastor to our family!
She is using Acts 16: 6-10 as the preaching text and I encourage you to take some time and read it beforehand. The sermon title is, “Come over here and help us!” and is about Paul’s vision and call to take his ministry to Greece. Our Candidate invites us to look at the story and reflect upon God’s specific calls on each of our lives.
Nic and I can’t wait to see you this Sunday! Invite someone you know to join you in worship and let them experience what God is doing among us!  Share the winsome Story of Jesus and be His hands and feet to a broken and hurting world. I am
Your pastor and friend,
