Easter morning was spectacular at First Presbyterian Church this year. It was a time of celebratory worship filled with excitement, beauty and joy. Together we proclaimed the fact that Christ is Risen!
But a week after the festivities, living in a skeptical world, where will we put our trust? Do your friends actually believe that Jesus is Risen? Do your family members believe it? Do your coworkers believe? Do you really believe that Jesus has overcome death? If so, how will you/do you demonstrate this belief in your daily life?
You might be surprised to learn that many of Jesus’ first disciples struggled with these same types of questions. Many were skeptical about the extraordinary news of Jesus’ resurrection. They were challenged to understand what such seemingly unbelievable news meant for them in their context.
This Sunday, April 8, 2018, we invite you to join us in worship at 8:30, 9:30 and/or 11 a.m. as we study John 20:19-31 and investigate what role, if any, doubt has in faith. We will allow the gospel to challenge our hearts and minds – seeking to discover what Christ would have us to know. So come, full of wonderment, and let us bring our questions before the Lord!
I look forward to seeing you all Sunday!
