God has led us on a long journey to seek a pastor who will love, lead, learn, and live a Christ-centered life along with people of our congregation and in our community. As a unified committee, we have felt your prayers, studied the Mission Study, discerned through corporate prayer, and spent a great deal of time with our candidate to determine that this is God’s choice. It was also important to us that our candidate feel called by God to become our next Pastor.
We are excited to announce that a unanimous decision has been reached by the Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) on the selection of Pastor/Head of Staff. The PNC submitted the Terms of Call to the Session for approval of our candidate at the October Session Meeting and then submitted them to Presbytery for further approval.
Session approved the recommendation that we have only one service on:
Sunday, November 19, 2017, at 10 AM
We look forward to each of you hearing our nominee speak at this service.
According to the Book of Order, a Congregational Meeting will take place immediately following the service for the purpose of accepting our candidate as our next Pastor/Head of Staff.
Immediately following the Congregational Meeting, there will be an opportunity to meet, greet, and welcome our new pastor and their family at a reception that will be held in the Neumann Center.
We appreciate you allowing your PNC to represent your voice in this process and we believe that every person will rise in support of our candidate. This is an exciting time for our church and we are thrilled to be able to introduce you to God’s choice and our next Pastor. We ask that each one of you pray for our candidate and his wife, our staff, and the future of First Presbyterian Church.
