It seems that no word is mentioned more frequently on a daily basis than the word TIME. People keep asking: “what time is it?” or “have you noticed how fast time flies when you are having fun?” The truth is that time is mechanical, it moves unchangeably at exactly the same pace, no matter how we try to alter it. We count it a privilege to invite you and your friends to come to worship on Sunday, July 9, 2017.
The writer of that fascinating book, Ecclesiastes, makes it clear that: “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” Still, the burden is placed upon each one of us in terms of how we are going to spend or use the time granted to us by God.
Paul gave this advice in his letter written to the Ephesian Christians: “Look carefully how you walk, not as an unwise person, but as a wise person, making the most of time.” It is my contention that wise are we if we truly understand that time is a gift, and we only get so much time. We will all be remembered in a large part in terms of how we have used the time God gives to us.
Our Cathedral Choir will be singing for us at the 11 a.m. traditional service of worship.
