Looking Ahead

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Join us this Sunday, January 15th, as Rev. Dr. Robert W. Bohl brings us God’s word from Ephesians 4:25-5:2 for the Epistle reading and Mark 3:1-6 for the Gospel reading.

Some weeks ago, someone here at FPC asked me if I ever got angry. I hesitated for a minute or two and was trying to decide if it was a loaded question. I concluded that if I said, “No, I never get angry,” he would accuse me of not telling the truth, because we know that everyone gets angry at some point in time.

But I thought that if I told him, “Yes! I get angry,” he might accuse me of being unchristian. I am relieved to know that that person told me that was his first Sunday here and that he was in Ft. Lauderdale for the weekend. I wish he were here today, now that I have thought through the question. But he might just get angry after hearing what I am going to say in the sermon on Sunday. A partial answer is to learn how to be angry at the right thing at the right time and for the right reason.

Reminder: Join us for the concert by The Westminster Choir this Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. No tickets or admission charge. View the video below for a brief preview.
