Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Join us this Sunday, January 8th, as Rev. Dr. Robert W. Bohl brings us God’s word from John 5:1-9.
The closing of an old year and the opening of a new year produces, for many of us, the opportunity for looking both backward and forward. It seems that everyone without exception knows that no one can go back and start life over, yet the vast majority of us live with emotional contradictions. We have an insatiable curiosity about the future, but we keep trying to live in the past.
For many, the past has such a powerful influence on us that it is almost as if we are determined to live life backwards. Can we never forget those wise words of Paul, who wrote: “Forgetting what lies behind, I press on forward to the goal.” For Paul, that goal was to be as much like Christ as is humanly possible.
Surely, that means we are to seize every minute and live it to the fullest, as servants of Jesus Christ.
TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Due to the Las Olas Art Fair on Sunday, January 8, 2017 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., there will be road closures along Las Olas Blvd. Please use SE 15th Avenue to access the church and avoid the closures.
