Happyland Day School offers young children an opportunity to learn and grow into a well-rounded student in the comfort of a Christian environment. We walk alongside your child guiding and teaching him or her every step of the way.

Explore the different programs and activities we offer below. You will notice, each class option is specific to each age group, 2-year olds, 3-year olds, 4-year olds and Kindergarten. We look forward to embracing you and your family into our early-education programs.

Pre K-2

Happyland Day School’s Pre K-2 program, for 2-year olds, promotes a nurturing and loving introduction into a Christian educational environment. Structured classes provide social interaction and an introduction to the classroom experience. Children are encouraged to explore their own imagination while fostering creativity through a blend of cooperative play, art and music.

The Pre K-2 Program Offers Three Options

  • 3 Days Per Week (Monday/Wednesday/Friday)

Children who are 24 months by September 1st of the enrollment year.

  • 2 Days Per Week (Tuesday/Thursday)

Children who will be 22 months by September 1st.

  • 5 Days Per Week (Monday-Friday)

Children who will be 24 months by September 1st.

Pre K-3

Three-year olds need a safe and healthy place to develop their minds and bodies. Happyland Day School’s Pre K-3 program introduces a new weekly theme for students to practice intellectual skills and to feel successful and self-confident while developing positive social interaction. Our units include weekly letter recognition, with additional emphasis on numbers, shapes, and colors.

Pre K-4

Children enrolled in Happyland Day School’s Pre K-4 program are slowly introduced into a more formal curriculum. This is accomplished through activities that encourage exploration of language, reading, and mathematics skills in a hands-on multi-sensory approach. The love of writing is developed through writing workshops that encourage the child to communicate their thoughts through drawings, illustrations, and eventually sentences! Each day is packed with learning disguised as fun.

Happyland Day School’s Kindergarten program prepares students academically and socially for entrance into the 1st grade. While our program is more structured than our preschool program, the students are still given ample time for the socialization that is so important at their age. Students work with classmates in a center-based learning environment that supports the differentiation of instruction that is critical at this age level. Students further develop their love of learning through creative play and gradually adjust to a more academic and structured learning environment.

During the school week, Spanish, Science, Music, and Physical Education classes are provided to all children ages Pre K-2 through Kindergarten.

Families may enroll children in afternoon extracurricular activities.

After School Programs for Happyland Students

Happyland Sports Program

Happyland students ages Pre K-2 and up are invited to learn skills, drills, relays, and soccer! This program is taught by Miss Terri, who is trained in Early Childhood Physical Education and is a fun introduction to rudimentary sports instruction and encourages team activities, sportsmanship, and exercise.

Ballet and Yoga

This class, for Happyland students Pre K-2 and up, includes warm-ups and simple routines within various types of dance and is offered for the purpose of developing coordination and promoting social interaction with their fellow students. The yoga class introduces simple postures and encourages students to use breathing to find a sense of calm. These programs are led by a representative of Joy Deco Enterprises, Inc

Presbyterian Church’s Cherub Choir. Practice is held Wednesdays 5:15 p.m.- 5:45 p.m. in the Neumann Center – Calvin Room. Performances will be Sunday mornings during worship, several times throughout the year. There is no cost to participate in Cherub Choir.

We encourage and welcome family involvement though two volunteer opportunities.

The Happyland Day School Parents’ Club

The Parents’ Club organizes several social events during the school year including the Happyland Soiree in the fall, Brunch with Santa in December, and the Easter Egg Hunt in the spring.

Thanks to the Club’s fundraising success, the children of Happyland have access to computers in each classroom, attend weekly Physical Education classes and Spanish classes, enjoy a lovely painted mural of Noah’s Ark in the Library/Music Room, play under retractable awnings on the playground, and share memories through the school yearbook.

Room Parents

Room Parents help with activities and coordinating parent efforts within their child’s classroom. Our Room Parents are greatly appreciated by our teachers as well as the entire staff!
