It is an exciting time of year to live in Fort Lauderdale. There is no shortage of outdoor activities in which to be involved. There are art shows and festivals, school and city sport schedules are rocking, and restaurants are full. One day quickly turns into the next and it will be June before you know it… how are you creating space?
This is the second Sunday of Lent. How is your mind? How is your heart? How are you creating space to prepare for Holy Week? How are you creating space to hear what God is saying to you? In our text this week, we see Jesus emphasizing that the people of Israel have repeatedly failed to listen to God’s messengers. How do you create space to listen? How do you respond to God’s messengers? In my limited life experience, I have noticed that God uses people to deliver hard, soul-searching messages that can be uncomfortable to hear. What has been your experience?
I hope that you will join us for worship this Sunday. We will be receiving our 2019 Confirmation Class into membership at the 11 a.m. service, and these students will be affirming Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. These students have asked for an encounter with Jesus and will be making the commitment to live life listening to God.
As you prepare for worship, you will find it helpful to read Luke 13:31-35.
See you there,
