It is back to school time! I can feel things shifting in our community as students, families, and teachers return to a weekly rhythm. Every summer I am excited for the change in routines and every August I find myself craving a return to the rhythm of the school year. I’m reminded of trips to the store for new school supplies and back to school clothes and all the other things done to prepare for a new year.
Our text for this week comes from the book of Ephesians, where we have spent the last couple of weeks. In Ephesians Chapter 6, Paul implores the church to prepare, to “put on the full armor of God.” Why? We do not typically think of our faith and our basic Christian practices and virtues in this regard, as tools for battle. Should we? What is Paul’s point and purpose here?
I look forward to exploring this together on Sunday. You will find it helpful to read Ephesians 6:10-20 as you prepare for worship.
See you there,
